Please try some of these helpful hints:

Remain calm. Computer problems are not unusual. Think of the "problem" as a learning experience.

Try again later. Take a short break, perhaps it will work in five or ten minutes.

Try try again. Unfortunately computers and computer networks do not always function correctly or as quickly as we might wish. Have you tried to accomplish the same task at least three times?

Try something different. Is there another way to access information you need? Brainstorm some other possible solutions and try those.

Use another computer. Computers can be finicky. If a different computer is available, try it on that one.

Look for clues. Check out the screen for any helpful hints. Read and reread the directions.

Two heads are better than one. Ask another student for their advice. Perhaps somebody else has already solved the problem you are having.

Ask for help. Please ask an instructor or instructional assistant at the LIGHT Center to help you.

Document it. Write down your question or problem in detail on a piece of paper and bring it to class.
