Captioning Online Media

In order to meet the needs of students who are deaf, hard of hearing, and/or who have auditory processing issues, all online audio on District servers needs to also have a transcript. Videos need to be captioned with the text and audio synced.

Why are captions necessary?

Answer: to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guideline (WCAG) Guideline 1. Provide equivalent alternatives to auditory and visual content.
